when is the domain technically available?
Depending on the Registry involved, the domain can be technically available all over
the world 72 hours after registration, for the information to be available on all servers.
This delay does NOT depend on Gandi.
Typically for a .COM/.NET/.ORG modifications take 48 hours. For .INFO/.BIZ/.NAME modifications
take 10 minutes (however you still need to take into account propagation delays in DNS)
(Summary)
Because all information is not available on all the servers at once.
However your domain is not really available (indeed nobody can purchase it) as soon as you get a confirmation e-mail.
(Summary)
You will receive a confirmation e-mail.
Warning! If you do not provide us with a valid e-mail address you will never receive a confirmation e-mail.
(Summary)
The changes are subject to the same rules as for an initial domain registration (see above).
(Summary)
If you only change your Web or e-mail forwardings it will become effective within 24 hours.
If you also change the DNS server list (for instance because previously your DNS servers were not
Gandi's) see above.
